Cloud Processing Privacy
Some tools require server processing. Here’s exactly what happens to your files.
Why cloud processing?
Most FilKlar tools process your files locally in the browser — nothing is sent to a server. However, some advanced features like server-side PDF compression, OCR, AI analysis, and text-to-speech require processing on our server.
This page explains how we handle your files when you use these cloud-based tools.
Temporary storage — max 30 minutes
When you submit a file to a cloud tool, it is temporarily stored on our server while being processed. Both the uploaded file and the result are automatically deleted within 30 minutes after processing completes.
- ●Files are stored for a maximum of 30 minutes after processing
- ●Files from failed jobs are deleted immediately
- ●An automatic cleanup process runs every 5 minutes
- ●No files are permanently retained on the server
No content retained after processing
After the cleanup window expires, we retain nothing of your file content. We do not copy, analyze, or archive the contents of your files beyond what is necessary to complete the processing you requested.
We do not use your file content to train AI models, build datasets, or for any other purpose. Once the file is deleted, it is gone for good.
Consent on use
Before you upload a file to a cloud tool, a clear notice is displayed explaining that the file will be temporarily stored on the server and deleted within 30 minutes. By submitting the file, you consent to this temporary processing.
You can always choose to use our local tools instead, which process everything in the browser without sending data to the server.
What we log
For cloud tools, we log minimal, anonymized usage statistics:
- ●Which tool was used
- ●File size and processing time
- ●Timestamp of the request
Security
All communication between your browser and our server happens over encrypted HTTPS. Temporary files are stored with unique identifiers and are not accessible to other users.
